OCI Nitrogen’s COOL innovative cooling system wins the Responsible care award 2013 by the Dutch Chemical Industry Association (VNCI). The Responsible Care prize is presented for reducing particle emissions during the production of fertilizer granules. The new cooling technology has reduced the annual fine particle emission from 174 tonnes to zero.
The Responsible Care prize is awarded each year by the VNCI to chemical companies that excel in health, safety, the environment and sustainability.
By awarding the prize, the jury underlines the importance of innovation in basic chemicals. “It was a serious and risky investment. But our staff have really worked hard and those efforts are now being rewarded”, explains Gert-Jan de Geus, Chief Operations Officer at OCI Nitrogen.
We at Approba congratulate our client OCI Nitrogen with winning this prestigious environmental prize.
